Swim School

Guests

In order to swim at the NMSU Aquatic Center, you must be an AggieFit member. If you are not, you can come as a guest of someone who is and pay the daily swim fee of $5.00.

Students and AggieFit members are allowed no more than three guests per day. Sponsoring student or AggieFit member must be present at the time of guests visit.

Children

All children 14 years of age or under must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a parent or adult 18 years of age or older (NM EID Reg. 2-102 H4).

Flotation devices for small children may be used only in the shallow water, and only when parent or adult is in the water and within immediate reach (arm's length) of child. Large rafts are not allowed.

*Children 3 & under are free with paid adult pass.

Flotation devices are not a substitute for parental supervision.

Children under 14 may swim laps with direct supervision from a coach or parent and the permission of the lifeguard supervisor.

Children over age three must use the appropriate locker room.

Pool Equipment

Towel service is not provided. Bring your own towel.

Kick boards, fins, pull buoys and flotation belts are available for adult lap swimmers and for use in supervised classes. Children may use university kick boards only when receiving supervised instruction from parents or adult supervisors. University equipment may not be removed from the pool area.

Lost and Found

The New Mexico State University Aquatic Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  1. Valuable Items: Found items such as electronics (cell phones, mp3 players, calculators, game consoles, etc.), wallets or any monetary amounts (cash, credit cards, debit cards, etc.), personal identification (i.d.s, NMSU i.d.s, passports, social security cards, etc.) or valuable jewelry will be logged and held in the Aquatic Center safe for 15 days, unclaimed items will be sent to the NMSU police department.
    1. Valuable Lost and Found Log is located in the Locker Rental Folder in the front office.
  1. Clothing, equipment, and other lost articles: All items found within the facility will be placed in the lost and found box located in the front office. The lost and found box will be cleared on the 1st and 15th of every month.

 

  1. Swim Meets: Due to the excessive amount of items left after scheduled swim meets the lost and found box will be emptied 7 days after each meet. This does not include, electronics, monetary or personal identification items which will be logged, held for 15 days and sent to the police department lost and found.

 

    • Daily Use Lockers: Daily use lockers that are not cleared by the time the Aquatic Center closes each day will have its lock cut and items bagged with locker # and date and placed in the outdoor storage room and will be held for one semester. Unclaimed items will be disposed after each semester.

    Parking

    Pool users must adhere to university parking regulations. Parking regulations will be enforced. Lot #44 in front of the pool is designated for faculty and staff only (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM). You must have a faculty/staff sticker to park there. Students with parking decals must park in student lots. Visitors on campus must obtain temporary permits to park. If you are participating in a pool program please take your registration receipt to the parking department at at their new facility located at 725 College Drive (just west of the old building, at the intersection of College & Union). Recommended parking lots for those with visitor permits are lot #39 ( up the hill and east of the Activity Center on Locust ) or lot #48 (just west of the pool by the tennis courts off Williams Avenue).

    Visit the NMSU parking web page to get an E-Permit. An E-Permit is a single-day permit that can obtained over the internet without any need to come into the Parking Office. Occasional visitors to NMSU can obtain up to five (5) E-Permits each year. The E-Permit allows visitors to park in the visitor parking, commuter student, and faculty/staff parking spaces, as well as the "All Permit" parking spaces on the main campus.

    Video/Picture Policy

    Taking video or pictures at the Aquatic Center is prohibited. If you require to take pictures or video, prior arrangments must be made ahead of time.
